Muktinath trek


Jomsom Muktinath Trek is an exciting trek in the Annapurna and Mustang regions of Nepal. The 13-day trek begins in Kathmandu with the tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Next, we fly to Pokhara, the beautiful Lake City and begin trekking from there. We trek in the beautiful Annapurna region and gradually enter the Mustang region. Our trail passes through quaint villages, cascading waterfalls, lush forests and surprisingly an almost-barren leeward side of the Himalayas. The diverse Nepalese landscape combined with the rich culture of its people makes this trek all the more rewarding. On our Jomsom Muktinath Trek, we also walk on trails along the Kali Gandaki gorge which is the deepest gorge on earth and then visit Muktinath Temple which is an important place of pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists alike. Dipping our bodies into the hot spring at Tatopani will also be a pleasing experience. The trek ends with our flight to Pokhara from Jomsom followed by a drive to Kathmandu.


Day 01  Arrival at Kathmandu, transfer to the Hotel. 

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Himalayan Glacier will officially greet and meet you at Airport & transfer to you Hotel Shanker or similar category hotel. Free day & evening welcome dinner at any typical Nepalese Restaurant.Over night at hotel in Kathmandu


Day 02  Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. 

Half day guided city tours (tour includes Katmandu Durbar Square, Syambunath Stupa, Pashupati Nath Temple - Hindu Temple & Buddha Nath - The biggest Buddha Stupa in ancent Katmandu). Afternoon pre-trip discussion of next day trek.Over night at Kathmandu Hotel.


Day 03  Drive/fly to Pokhara. 

Breakfast at hotel at 0700 hrs. Check out hotel and transfer to Pokhara by tourist coach. Though it is only 200

kms away from Kathmandu it takes 6 hrs journey to reach Pokhara. No wonder the 6 hrs journey will be as

memorable as anything driving right next to the banks of Trishuli River and Marshyangdi River which are very

famous for rafting and not to miss out the charming pastoral scenery on the way. We stop at Hamlet Restaurant

on the way to rest and try the local flavour of Nepalese readymade tea. We then drive onwards and stop at

Riverside Springs Resort to eat lunch. After lunch we drive onwards to Pokhara driving past the only cable car of

the country and one of the busiest local stops of the country. Arrive Pokhara at around 1500 hrs and check into

hotel. Rest of the day at own leisure for individual activities.Dinner and overnight at The Fulbari Resort or similar.




Day 04  Drive to Nayapool and start trek to Thikhadhunga

Drive for 45 minutes to the place called Nayapul. Further you walk to the northen side of Bhurungdi Khola, the trail climbs to Hille and nearby Tirkedungha at Gurung Village. Little surrounding walk and over night stay at lodge.


Day 05  Trek to Ghorepani. 

From Tikedungha the trail drops down and crosses the Burungdi Khola, then climbs all the way up to Ghorepani via very steeply up village Ulleri. After it the trails comes into the rodhodendron forest all the way to Ghorepani.Over night at lodge.


Day 06 Ghorepani to Tatopani (5-6hrs) 1,190m/3,904ft. 

The trail descends steeply to Sikha, a large village & further descends to 380m to Ghar Khola Village. After crossing suspension bridge it climbs up at Tatopani.


Day 07  Trek to Ghasa/Kalopani. 

The trail now follows the Kali Gandaki river flows under the deep gorge by 2200m in between two 8000m mountaintops are only 38km apart. This trails further ascends to first Thakali village Ghasa. A paradise village for the bird specialists.Over night at lodge.


Day 08  Ghasa to Larjung 2,570m/8,430ft

A steep climb through forest takes you to Lete Khola then reach to Lete. It further continue to the east side of the Kaligandaki reach you Larjung Village.Over night at lodge.Trek to Marpha. 


Day 09  Larjung to Marpha (4-5hrs) 2,680m/8,792ft

Today trail cross via Tukche at 2590m and walking further through a governmental established project produces fruits mainly apples and vegetables for the whole region until you get to Marpha Village. over night at lodge.. 


Day 10  Marpha to Kegbeni (5-6hrs) 2,810/9,218ft

The trail continues along the valley side , rising gradually before crossing over a low ridge to Jomsom Village.The interesting trail along the river all the way to the medieval-looking village of Kagbeni. Over night at lodge.


Day 11  Kagbeni to Muktinath (5-6hrs) 3,710m/12,170ft

From Kagbeni the path climbs steeply to re-join the direct trail leading to Khingar at 3200m. The trail climbs through a desert landscape till Jarkot Village. A further climb brings you to Muktinath. over night at lodgTrek back to Jomsom. 


Day 12  Muktinath to Jomsom (5-6hrs) 2,715m/8,910ft

From Muktinath you will retrace your steps to Jomsom and your trek ends at Jomsom.Over night at lodge.Fly back to Pokhara. 


Day 13  Jomsom to Pokhara 

A 30 min flight to Pokhara and then overnight at the hotel.


Day 14  Drive/fly back to Kathmandu. 

Next Day Fly back to Kathmandu. Free day for shopping overnight at the hotel.


Day 15  . Departure on your own destination. 

Today you will depart for your country.
